Two vertical pairs and two singles, all with grid cancels and matching “San Francisco, Cal. Dec 13, 1864” postmarks, on cover front addressed to Paris, France via New York. Red New York integral transit marking and red French receiving marking. Manuscript endorsement “per steamer.” The back added to the cover front. One stamp pair with a natural straight edge at right. One pair with a piece missing at the left side of the bottom stamp. Cover front with a tear at right.
