As per Penny Post Vol. 10 No. 1 (January 2002), the local stamp is a forgery and like Type A described in The Lyons Identifier, except that it does not have the background lines of square dots.
The stamp is applied on top of a cancellation, parts of which show in the
area above the stamp. A fake cancellation of bars in a circular pattern is used to tie
the forgery to a genuine cover.
